History
The history of Tiruvallur is quite analogous to that of Chennai.

ruled these parts, as early as 7th century A.D. The power South
Indian dynasties came to an end with the fall of the Golconda
rulers. The Mughal emperors defeated the local rulers in the year
1687 and established their rule over the lands. The last to occupy
the lands were the British. The British took over the lands in the
year 1825. But before this (British domination) the region had to
bear Carnatic Wars that was fought between British and French
troops. The British rule finally ended with the independence of
India.
